Four players from the Isle of Wight recently competed in the west of England Masters squash event in Cheltenham.
Tim Liker faced a tough challenge in his age category, losing in straight games in the first round.
However, he bounced back in the plate event, winning in straight games before narrowly losing the next round 3-1.
Chris Green, competing in his age category for the first time, won his first game but but found the it hard to get a foot hold in the second and third game and was eventually forced to withdraw due to a hamstring injury.
Island coach Adam Dominey had a strong showing, winning his first match in straight games.
He then faced a fellow England international in the quarter-finals, narrowly losing in a closely contested match.
George Shoulder, seeded third in his age group, won his first-round match convincingly, before beating the number two seed from Bedfordshire in the semi-finals.
In the final, Shoulder, tired from the previous day's play, initially struggled but eventually found his rhythm.
He secured his first Masters title, winning the final game 11-5.
All four players are set to compete again next month in Ipswich for the west of England Masters event.
