Glorious September conditions greeted 124 runners on Sunday (September 15) for a popular Isle of Wight seafront race.

MCC Promotions' Sandown to Shanklin 10k race, which kicked off from Yaverland car park, saw spectators line the route to cheer on the participants as they raced along the scenic coastal course.

From the start, Dave Hunt of Ryde Harriers set a blistering pace, pulling ahead of the pack as the field made its way through Sandown.

Bethany Howarth of IW Road Runners, fresh from winning the Island’s Half Marathon, also impressed, positioning herself comfortably within the top ten early on.
