An Island cricketer has reached 800 career wickets.
Sam Vandecasteele passed the milestone for Freshwater Cricket Club against Godshill/Shanklin 2nd XI.
A mainstay of Freshwater’s bowling attack for the last three decades, there aren’t many Island League batters that Sam hasn’t got out.
Club secretary Graham Gosden took the catch for Sam’s 800th wicket.
After the match, Freshwater Cricket Club presented Sam with a memorial award containing the match ball.
