Wightlink Wight Mountain CRT riders competed in a prestigious cycling event at the weekend.
At the National Time Trial Circuit Championships in Goodwood, on Sunday, more than 350 riders challenged for titles across a number of categories.
Kev Chant, competing in the Open TT category, was up against 130 top class riders.
He powered home with a time of 19:32, securing sixth place, missing out on a podium place by just ten seconds.
He said: “I’m really pleased with that result, as it was much better than my predicted time.”
Nick Earley, meanwhile, was the first U23 rider to finish in the road bike category, crossing the line in 23:02 to claim eleventh place, while all-rounder, Ewan Cook, put in another solid performance to place sixth in the junior category, finishing in 22:11.
Competing in the female road bike category was Charis Jones, together with veteran riders Kirsty Cook and Julie Cooper.
Charis (25.25) finished fifth overall as the third fastest senior.
Kirsty put in another gutsy ride to finish in 32:42, while Julie – competing in her first race – finished in 28.26.
Jerry Cooper on the other hand, competing in the veteran 60-64 category, raced for the first time in two years, crossing the line in 26:37.
