The Island Sailing Club held a highly competitive weekend event marked by varying wind conditions.

From southwest breezes clocking between about seven to ten knots on the Saturday, to a lighter northwestern wind of around five knots the following day, the sailors faced diverse challenges over the two days.

The event started on the Saturday, with a strong performance from Tango, closely followed by Ada. A tight points gap characterized most of the fleet going into the Sunday.

The second day saw the wind drop further, prompting a race before a long postponement.

Once the wind picked up and veered left into a southwesterly breeze of nine to 13 knots, the race was quickly moved north by the race committee.

Palaver from the Greig City Academy secured second place overall, defeating Ada's skipper Mr Thorpe by just a single point, following their consistent second-place standings in all three races.

Despite a notable performance on Sunday, Man’s Best Friend, helmed by Mr Oliver MacLean, bagged the number one spot for youth and the Corinthian category.

Tango, steered by Mr Chris Hampton reached the summit of the leaderboard, winning the event with a significant points lead.

The race team, headed by Phil Hagan, were commended for managing the event successfully amidst fluctuating wind conditions.
