Motorcycle racing is set to return to Smallbrook Stadium on Thursday as the Wightlink Warriors face the Kent Kings at 7pm.

The action follows a two-week break during which a scheduled clash in Iwade, Kent became a casualty of poor weather conditions.

Though talks are underway, a new date is yet to be finalised for the postponed match, with July 21 being considered.

Having experienced alterations in teams, the Warriors are short of Chad Wirtzfeld due to injury from a track accident.

In contrast, the Kings present a reworked line-up, with Ben Morley, who used to ride for the Warriors, anticipated to at the command of considerable assistance.

There are also changes in numbers four and five, introducing Australians Dale Wood and Patrick Hamilton respectively.

The Kings bring in 15-year-old sensation William Cairns, who has previously turned heads in the speedway world, as an intelligent move in number six.

Wightlink Warriors will be led by Arran Butcher at number one, backed up by Sonny Springer, and featuring local talent Morgan Williams.

Promoter Barry Bishop is optimistic about the tough challenge from Kent.

There will also be a 500cc upright championship qualifier, junior racing from 6.15pm and the main event at 7pm.
