AT JUST 12 years old Noah Gartell from the Isle of Wight is getting properly noticed in the snooker world after winning another tournament and rising to within six points off the top of the Cuestars U21 Bronze Tour rankings.
The talented young snooker prodigy, of Yarmouth, enjoyed a clear-cut victory as he picked up his second winner's trophy of the season on his latest visit to South London's Frames Sports Bar, Coulsdon.
Noah, who recently racked up a 60 break, his highest to date, bested his good friend Archie Greier, from the Channel Islands, 2-1 in the final.
The Islander's performance was impressive, conceding that one frame throughout the entire tournament — winning his seven matches en route to the final.
He said: "I should have won 2-0, but Archie always comes back on the colours."
Noah also looked back on a narrow victory against another competitor, Lee Clayden, in the last-16 round — considering himself fortunate to progress beyond that point.
"I was lucky to still be in the tournament after the last 16, when I had a black-ball game with Lee," said Noah.
Tim Dunkley, Gartell's World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association coach, watched Noah perform in the final, proudly acknowledging his confident performance and potential in the sport.
"Noah did well. I am proud of him. His composure under pressure belies his tender years," said Tim.
Noah's victory has secured a spot just six points away from the top of the Cuestars U21 Bronze Tour rankings.
Noah is optimistic of his chances of lifting the Cuestars title.
"I’ve got a chance. We’ll just have to see what happens," he said.
