THE 23rd annual Isle of Wight Marlins Masters Open Swim Meet got the crowd excited with some great races at The Heights Leisure Centre, Sandown, on Saturday.
Swimmers from various masters clubs from the Island and across the south came together for a fun-filled, yet intense competition.
A busy afternoon of swimming concluded with Isle of Wight Marlins Swimming Club chairman, Peter Clark, presenting the awards.
The top female swimmer accolade went to Jacqueline Patel of the Spencer Swim Club, while Jevgenijs Putans, from Bracknell and Wokingham SC, bagged the men's award.
Both were gifted a bottle of Mermaids gin.
Notably, Jevgenijs added another feather to his cap by grabbing the Charles Ambler Trophy for competing in most events — a total of 13, out of which he won 11.
Bracknell and Wokingham SC also walked away with the Heights Memorial Trophy for the top team.
Afterwards, Mr Clark said: "The enthusiasm of the masters swimmers made this an enjoyable and friendly meet, with many of those visiting going on to enjoy the Island for the weekend."
The Marlins meet for swims every Tuesday and Thursday, 7.30am - 8.30am, at The Heights.
