In Wessex League Isle of Wight football tonight (Saturday, January 13), Cowes Sports are celebrating an away win at Baffins Milton Rovers.

Having been named Wessex League Premier Division ‘Club of the Month’, the Yachtsmen went to Portsmouth eyeing a play-off place, and just one point behind Brockenhurst, with three games in hand.
Cowes' first goal came courtesy of Fin Phillips in the first half, to draw level with the hosts.
In the second half, John McKie twice found the back of the net, to secure the win.
Player of the match was Scott McFarlane, 'for a commanding performance up top'.

Away to Verwood Town, the scoreline was the same but this time it wasn't in East Cowes Vics' favour.
Earlier this season, Vics secured a narrow 1-0 win against Verwood.
Unfortunately, it didn't go their way today (Saturday), at Potterne Park.
Calling it a 'bad day at the office', by half time Verwood were already 2-0 up against Vics.
Things went from bad to worse in the second half with Verwood making it 3-0, before Vics' consolation goal.
In the end, the visitors weren't able to match their hosts in time for the final whistle.

An equaliser came in the 82nd minute, denying Newport FC the full three points.
