In Isle of Wight football, the Wight Eagles were victorious in their first game of the season, against Havant and Waterlooville.
Fresh from their promotion to division four, the Islanders kicked off with a 4-2 home win, earning them three points.
Abi Joyce scored twice and the others came from Daisy Chapman and Chloe Lloyd.
Player of the match was keeper, Morgan Allen and there was a debut appearance for new signing, Sammie Mumford, from Shanklin.
Player and manager, Ellena Boakes, said: "I couldn’t be prouder of these ladies today they put a massive effort in and with the heat it was challenging at times.
"Everyone has been working hard over pre-season to get fit and play the best football we can at this club and that showed on the pitch."
The club is thanking Ventnor FC for providing a home pitch, while work is carried out on the Eagles' home ground.
