The Isle of Wight weather has put paid to speedway for the second week running, Wightlink Warriors have announced.

Tomorrow night's meeting at Smallbrook Stadium in Ryde has been called off.

Co-owner Barry Bishop said: "It is sad news for race fans, with two meetings in a row falling foul of the weather, however with the inclement conditions overnight, more rain due today (Wednesday) and again tomorrow we have taken the decision to cancel.

"We never take such decisions lightly as we want regular weekly speedway, but the loss for a rain off for the club would be substantial and we always want our guests to have the very best of experiences with us.

"We are hoping for better luck next week when we hold the Nora British Upright Championship Grand Final."
