THE competition was pretty intense for the recent annual Ladies' Day event at an Isle of Wight Golf Club.
Shanklin and Sandown's Ladies' Day Open featured a Bowmaker competition, with the team of Louise Webb, Helen Whittaker and Nicki Glasgow, of Westridge Golf Club, taking first prize with 92 points — a three-point winning margin.
Two days later, the club hosted their mixed open event — a four-ball-better-ball Stableford — attracted a number of Island and mainland clubs, including teams from Shanklin and Sandown.
Paul and Nicki Morton (Ryde Golf Club) won with 53 points — beating their nearest rivals by five points.
