Speedway's Wightlink Warriors take on Rye House Rockets on the Isle of Wight this Thursday (June 22).

The Islanders have already made a winning start, away at Sittingbourne in the first round of the No Brakes Racing League (NBRL) competition.

This week, Warriors Ben Morley, Rhys Naylor, Arran Butcher and George Congreve will be joined by Denmark-based Australian, Brayden McGuinness and the familiar face of Chad Wirtzfeld.

The Kent team brings Steve Boxall and Luke Bowen as well as National League regulars Ben Trigger and Jack Kingston, with Sam Woods and Chris Watts.

  • Gates at Smallbrook open at 5.15pm. Demonstration races start at 6.10pm. The main team match starts at 7pm.
  • Tickets can be bought on the door.

Prior to the main event, there will be at least eight heats for youth riders and a six-heat training challenge, between the Wightlink Wizards and Crayford Kestrels.

Changes to the structure of the league in the run-up to the new season mean Henry Atkins is no longer with the Warriors.

Meanwhile, Wayne Parker is injured and it is hoped he will be back with later in the summer.
