Following the decision of Zak Chiverton to stand down as Hurricanes’ first team captain, Jacob Jordan is stepping into the role for the upcoming season.
Jordan began his career with Sandown & Shanklin in 2015, graduating from Vectis RFC and making his first appearances for the club as scrum-half.
After two seasons, Jordan helped the team reach the LSW 3 play-off and cemented himself as first choice.
He played for Alresford RFC while at university before returning to Sandown & Shanklin last year.
Damien Marriott, The Hurries’ director of rugby, said: "Now the playing side is sorted, I cannot wait to get started with pre-season.
“I’m excited to see what Jacob has to offer, with his own style and flair."
Jordan said: "It is an absolute honour to be in a position to captain the club that has done so much to shape the person I am today.
“From my first day at Sandown & Shanklin, the three things that stood out for me were the aspiration, intensity, and camaraderie shown by all those involved at the club. And it is with these foundational components, I hope to lead on."
