THE first round of the WKRKC summer series saw nine of the best ‘karters’ on the Isle of Wight compete for top spot on the Island’s only all-weather outdoor go-kart track.
The round was run on a reverse track layout, providing drivers with a fresh test.
The weather also played its part in engendering close, tight battles throughout.
James Dziuba secured top spot on 35 points, achieving both a first and second place finish across two heats.
A first and third-place finish saw Dale Hunt claim second place on 30 points, and Mike Jolliffe finished in third on the same points but narrowly losing out to Hunt due to an inferior result in the heats.
