A VECTIS Academy triathlete took on the Ironman 70.3 Mallorca at the weekend.
Gabriella Hewitt, of Cowes, had to swim 1.2 miles in Alcudia Bay, cycle 56 miles, and run 13.1 miles to complete the course.
As part of her bike run, she even had to conquer a 1,400ft, nine-mile-long ascent.
Gabriella took part in an equivalent event in Weymouth last year and was looking to improve on her performance in Spain.
Competing against some 3,000 other athletes, she beat her personal best from Weymouth, finishing in six hours and 15 minutes.
