AN ISLE of Wight basketball player received a standing ovation after taking on three other players when his two teammates succumbed to injuries.
The final week of play in the first season of the PC Consultants 3x3 League saw Tres Amigos top Division One, and an unbeaten 3 Blind Mice top Division Two.
But the real story was the league’s newest and youngest team, Ryde Revenants, who joined mid-season and had to play catch-up.
They lost George Danaher to an ankle injury during their first match and decided to play on with two, only to lose Bhodi Glenister to the same nature of injury a few minutes into their fourth game.
Undeterred, Gabriel Scuderi single-handedly held team Triple Threat to 19 points and finished the match to a standing ovation.
