THREE Isle of Wight cyclists made the trip to Dorset to compete in their first road race of the season.

Wightlink Wight Mountain CRT members Kev Chant, Elvis Belton and James Veal headed to Blandford Forum on Sunday, March 25.

They took part in the Azets Spring Classic Stage Race, which featured three stages across one day.

Stage one kicked off in Pimperne with a one-mile climb, and Kev put in a strong showing to take second place.

Stage two was a ten-mile time trial on the famous Pimperne Circuit, and Kev showed his class again to power home and take the win – the only rider to cross the line in under 24 minutes.

During stage three, Kev, Elvis and James all worked well as a team to finish in the top 20 against some of the south’s strongest teams.
