ISLAND Bakeries A kept up their challenge for the Division 2 title with a comfortable 47-run win over Cowes at Rew Valley on Sunday.
Bakeries batted first, posting 114-3, thanks to a quickfire 26 retired from Matt Webb.
Webb then went on to take 2-8 from his three overs as Cowes mustered 67-4 from their 12 overs — Adam Lungley (25 not out).
Arreton also kept up their title challenge with a win over Ryde B.
Having bowled Arreton out for 73 (Dan Attrill 2-9, Tom Roscoe 2-19), but in reply, all six Ryde B players were caught out cheaply, to lose by 31 runs.
Callum Witham (3-6) was the pick of the Arreton bowlers.
In Division 3, Newport stay in the title race after narrowly beating Ventnor B.
Newport hit 120-4, with Paul Attrill (27 not out) and Luke Chessell (26 not out) leading the way.
Joseph Hill (2-28) was Ventnor's most successful bowler.
In reply, Ventnor took the game to the last ball, but finished an agonising three runs short.
Martin Blackman hit 48, with Harrison McQuillan chipping in with 29 not out.
