ISLE OF Wight born cricket star Adam Hose and Australian test player Travis Head — both of whom have played for Ventnor — will be in the same team playing in the Big Bash League over the festive season, Down Under.
Adam, 30, who recently signed for Worcestershire for next season after a successful spell at Warwickshire, alonsgide fellow Islander, Danny Briggs, will line up in the Adelaide Strikers side against the Sydney Sixers tomorrow (Wednesday).
Travis, 28, spent a great season at Ventnor in 2013 as their overseas player, but never played alongside Adam at Steephill.
They did, that year, play and train together in Australia while Adam was there doing winter training as part of the MCC Young Cricketers squad.
Adam was drafted into the Strikers squad as a specialist one-day batsman.
He was in blistering form for the Birmingham Bears in the T20 Vitality Blast — setting a T20 record partnership of 174 from 70 balls with Sam Hain.
Adam will be playing under captain Peter Siddle, who played 67 times for the Aussies, and alongside Alex Carey, part of the current Aussie side, Rashid Khan, a superstar in Afghanistan and big hitting all-rounder, Colin de Grandhomme, of New Zealand.
The Big Bash League will run until February 4.
