Thursday's special sidecar speedway meeting has been cancelled, due to the forecast weather.
Competitors were due to travel to the Isle of Wight's Smallbrook Stadium from as far afield as Europe, along with teams from other parts of the UK.
The Wightlink Warriors said: "We felt we could not risk the expenditure for everyone (and the club) with such uncertain weather.
"Right now there are no plans to re-stage the meeting, but if that changes and we can find a slot for it we will update you immediately.
"Thank you for your understanding and ongoing support."
More stormy weather and heavy rain is expected over the next few days.
It had been due to be the final meeting of the 2022 season and it has been over three years since sidecars raced on the Isle of Wight track.
The night was due to feature twelve solo grasstrack racers, in the NORA British Open Grasstrack Championship, sponsored by Computers Network & Maintenance Ltd T/A itcomputers.
Names including Rachel Cox and Scott Gutteridge, Jake Gerring and Dennis Smit, James Hogg and Scott Goodwin (pictured) and Ben Ilsley and Damon Hurst were due to take part.
