After Wingate had wasted several early chances, Egham's Gavin Mernagh opened the scoring with a 23rd-minute penalty, and two minutes later, Terry Davies put them 2-0 up with a 20-yard free-kick.

Keeper James Goodman then made the mistake from which Egham went 3-0 up before Wingate staged a recovery.

Richard Baum and Robert Donn both scored but the visitors were caught on the break 12 minutes before time as Egham sealed the points.
