A new “exhilarating and emotional” drama will be airing on ITV this weekend, starring none other than Game of Thrones legend Sophie Turner.
She will take on the “complex and captivating” role of Joan Hannington, a notorious jewel thief, with the series set against the "vibrant and aspirational" backdrop of 1980s London.
Joan will follow Hannington’s multifaceted life as a mother, lover, liar and one of Britain’s most infamous thieves.

The ITV synopsis reads: "When her partner Gary goes on the run, Joan seizes the chance to start a new life with her six-year-old daughter, Kelly.
"Delving deeper into the criminal underworld, Joan meets Boisie, an enigmatic antiques dealer whose allure introduces her to new levels of danger and passion.
"Through sharp intelligence, irresistible charm, and a talent for impersonation, Joan’s journey is a high-stakes game of survival and reinvention.
"Every heist and every stolen diamond is driven by her singular purpose: to create a secure future for her daughter."
Is Joan based on a true story?
Viewers might be interested to know that Joan is inspired by the real Joan Hannington and certain events from her life.
The six-part series was written by Anna Symon from Hannington’s memoirs and the thief was consulted during the writing process.
