Fans of Agatha Christie are in for a special treat this Christmas, as a new adaptation of her popular novel, Murder is Easy will be premiering on the BBC.
Set in 1954, the two-part adaptation of the mystery thriller follows the story of Luke Fitzwilliam as he arrives in the UK from Nigeria for a job in Whitehall.
Whilst on the train to London, Fitzwilliam meets Miss Pinkerton who shares how her village of Wychwood under Ashe has a killer on the loose villagers believe that a series of deaths were accidental but Miss Pinkerton thinks otherwise.
After sharing her thoughts with Fitzwilliam, Miss Pinkerton is found dead leading to the young Fitzwilliam being left with no choice but to find the killer again before they can strike.
Actor David Jonsson will star as Fitzwilliam, Jonsson is best known for starting the romantic comedy 2023 film, Rye Lane and the TV series Industry.
Veteran actor Penelope Wilton also stars, the award-winning actress has appeared in many productions including Downton Abbey, After Life, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, Calendar Girls, Shaun of the Dead and many more.

Agatha Christie's Murder Is Easy will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer across two consecutive nights.
The first episode will air on Wednesday, December 27 at 9pm with the second at the same time on Thursday, December 28.
