AN ISLE of Wight drug driver was caught while more than ten times over the limit for a cocaine derivative while he had a child passenger in his van.
Kelvin Cook, of Redver Gardens, Newport, appeared before Isle of Wight magistrates on Friday, November 29.
The 42-year-old admitted drug driving in Northwood, on Woodside Close, on May 19.
Prosecutor, Lauren McConnell, said at around 12.45pm, on Pallance Road in Northwood, the attention of police was drawn to a Mercedes Sprinter van turning oddly.

She said they took it as an attempt to avoid officers, and when the vehicle was stopped, its driver, Cook, registered a reading of 602 for Benzoylecgonine, a derivative of cocaine, when the specified limit is 50.
The court heard other illicit substances were detected in Cook’s blood, but they were below the specified limit.
Ms McConnell said he had a young child in the passenger’s seat but there was no evidence of an unacceptable standard of driving.
Cook was made subject of an interim driving ban and saw his case adjourned to February 7 for sentencing.
