AN ISLE of Wight man caught driving an uninsured Suzuki motorcycle with just a provisional licence has been banned from the road.
Ashley Wenham, of Copse End, Sandown, appeared before Isle of Wight magistrates on Friday, November 29.
The 37-year-old admitted driving a motor vehicle without a licence, and using a motor vehicle without insurance, in Newport, on February 29.
Prosecutor, Lauren McConnell, said the attention of a police officer on duty was drawn to a blue Suzuki motorcycle at around 9.15pm.
She said Wenham was travelling along Horsebridge Hill and the manner of his driving caused the officer to pull him over.
A police check revealed the vehicle was uninsured and Wenham held only a provisional licence.

Wenham, representing himself, conceded he made a mistake by driving without a licence.
He said he was in-work, building marquees for weddings and festivals, but his finances were limited due to the off-season, and he was in the process of becoming self-employed.
Wenham was disqualified from driving for six months and fined £250.
He was ordered to pay costs of £85, a £100 surcharge, and his driving record was endorsed with three penalty points.
