A man arrested on suspicion of murder following the sudden death of a woman on the Isle of Wight has been released with no further action.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary has said the death is no longer being treated as suspicious.
As previously reported, police were called to an address in Glendale Close, Wootton, after a woman in her 70s had died.
Officers descended on the property at 9.42am on Monday, September 9.
As part of the investigation, a 76-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder.
He was initially bailed until December 10.
A spokesperson for the force has since said: "Following a number of enquiries, and on the basis of the evidence gathered by police, we are no longer investigating this as a suspicious death and the man has been released with no further action being taken against him."
The woman’s family have been informed and police are preparing a file for the coroner.
