Clothing retail giant Peacocks has returned to an Isle of Wight town centre after a near three year absence.
The fashion chain has moved into the former Iceland store on South Street, Newport — just across the road from its former home.
Hoards of shoppers descended on the shop as its doors opened for the first time this morning, and even Santa Claus joined in with celebrations.

Speaking at the official ribbon cutting ceremony, Cllr Julie Jones-Evans, cabinet member for economy, regeneration, culture and leisure, said: "To have Peacocks back in town is brilliant.
"For a big brand to come back to Newport, is testament to how much the county town still has to offer people."
Amanda Graff, Peacocks regional manager for the South said: "We were devastated when we had to leave our old store and we have been looking to return and I think we've found the perfect building just across the road.
"It's a welcome addition to Newport.
"It's unrecognisable and when you walk in, it's got that real wow factor."
Amanda said "a couple of colleagues" from the former Newport branch have returned.
Previously, the shop was based in a unit in the South Street Retail Building, which is now occupied by Sports Direct.
That branch shut its doors in April 2021, during the Covid pandemic.
