A village is set to be transformed into a festive hub for its first-ever Christmas Cracker event.

On Saturday, December 7, Godshill will come alive with the spirit of Christmas from 10am to 8pm.

Godshill Matters, a new residents' group, has teamed up with local businesses, Godshill Primary School, Godshill Scouts, the parish council, and All Saints Church to host the celebration.

The day will feature a variety of attractions, including Christmas markets at the Cider Barn and All Saints Church, a vintage fair at The Old Smithy, Christmas mosaic making at the Methodist Church, and busking shows by schoolchildren around the village.

Concert-goers can enjoy listening to singer Nathan Stubbings performing at the Methodist Church.

The evening will see a lantern parade with church bells, starting from Godshill School at 6pm, followed by carols around the tree in the Old Smithy Car Park.

The Christmas Cracker event is a demonstration of community collaboration and supports local businesses.

A spokesperson for the event said: "This heart-warming event not only celebrates the festive season but also demonstrates the power of community collaboration.

"Make sure to join the festivities, experience the magic of Christmas in Godshill, and support the local community."
