A man has been jailed for 12 weeks following a car crash on the Isle of Wight. 

Leon Gladdis, 27, of Stakes Road in Waterlooville, appeared in court today following an incident on Great Preston Road, Ryde, on May 22 this year. 

Gladdis collided with a parked car before leaving the scene on foot.

He was charged with failing to report a road traffic incident, driving without insurance and driving whilst disqualified.

He admitted all of the offences at Isle of Wight Magistrates' Court.

He received a 12-week prison sentence and was handed a further driving ban for two and a half years.
