A NEW one-day event is set to celebrate creativity on the Isle of Wight.
The Bees Needles — a festival aimed at all things artistic — will take place at GG's Island Riding Centre, Staplers Road, Newport, on March 30 next year.
The event is designed to inspire people new to the arts — and offer them an opportunity to start a new hobby.
A variety of workshops, catwalks, a shopping mall and an artisan village will make up the event.

The workshops will serve as tasters — allowing participants to decide if they want to continue and become experts in their chosen field.
Organisers said they hope to cover "all types of creative arts and pastimes," from sewing to blacksmithing, woodturning, art and sculpture.
Attendees will be able to stock up on materials for their current hobby, or purchase items needed to start a new one.
The Sewing Studio IOW, the Island home of Brother sewing machines, will be exhibiting its collection of sewing machines for people to try out.
They will be bringing along its library of fabric samples to order from, with colour charts for zips and threads, which allow for a wider choice for dressmaking requirements.
Their haberdashery cabinet will feature items from their design studio.
The Sewing Studio IOW's own brand of sewing-inspired merchandise will also be on display.
The full-height cutting tables and sewing space will be available to hire.

The event will coincide with Mother's Day, plans for VIP tickets to include afternoon tea, with more details to be announced soon.
The central location, free entry and free parking are expected to attract a wide range of people to the day.
The organisers hope the event will serve as a "celebration of all things creative on the Island" and inspire people to join in and start a new hobby.
