Storm Bert battered the Isle of Wight over the weekend, downing trees and causing flooding in some areas.

Island Roads received around 20 call-outs, even dealing with fallen debris from a building in Newport.

During the weekend, Island Roads also dealt with flooding on Whitwell Road and Alverstone Cycle track.
There were also numerous fallen or dangerous trees or branches, including on Beatrice Avenue, East Cowes; Calbourne Road, Newport; Ashey Road, Ryde; Godshill Road, Whitwell; Kite Hill, Wootton; Arctic Road, Cowes; Carpenters Road, Brading; Carters Road, Ryde; Blackwater Shute, Arreton; Freshwater Road, Shalfleet; Bedbury lane, Freshwater and Newport Footpath 218, near the old football club.
On Rectory Lane, Gatcombe, a tree was removed by members of the public.
There was also a fallen non-lit Christmas tree in Brannon Way, Wootton.
