A care home manager has been recognised as the best in the South East.
Teresa Hope, registered manager at Highfield House in Shanklin, was named Registered Manager of the Year for the South East at the Great British Care Awards.
Her win was announced at a ceremony at the Brighton Metropole, where she stood out among 11 other finalists for her leadership and dedication to person-centred care.
Next, she will compete for the national title at the National Finals in Birmingham this March.

Ian Bennett, managing director of Island Healthcare, said: "We couldn’t be prouder of Teresa. This award is a testament to her hard work and the compassionate environment she fosters at Highfield House. It’s an incredible achievement."
Highfield House is part of Island Healthcare, which operates six care homes across the Isle of Wight.
A spokesperson for Island Healthcare said: "We're rooting for Teresa as she heads to Birmingham for the Nationals – and we hope the Island will be too!"
