An Isle of Wight woman assaulted two security guards and a healthcare assistant in a “prolonged attack” at the A&E department at St Mary’s Hospital.
Danielle Savaria, of no fixed abode, attended the IW Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, November 19, and pleaded guilty to three counts of assault by beating of an emergency worker.
Liz Miller, prosecuting, said St Mary’s Hospital security was called to de-escalate a disturbance at the Accident and Emergency Department at 5.30am on October 27.
Ms Miller told the court a security guard arrived and was punched in the face by the 43-year-old, sending his glasses flying, before being hit again in the lip and getting kneed in the groin.

A healthcare assistant intervened in an attempt to defuse the situation, and Savaria used her nails to dig into her hand, the court heard.
Magistrates were told that backup was called, and Savaria became more aggressive and kicked a second security guard in the leg twice.
Ms Miller said Savaria was eventually calmed down enough to be taken outside, where she was arrested.
The whole ordeal was a “prolonged and persistent assault,” Ms Miller added.
Tom Cooke, defending, said his client, who had recently been made homeless, had been admitted to hospital with back pain and was under the influence of morphine, which she was given by hospital staff.
Mr Cooke disagreed with Ms Miller’s statement, describing the assaults as a “prolonged incident, not a prolonged attack.”
Savaria will return to court on January 31, 2025, for sentencing.
