A prolific Isle of Wight shoplifter is back behind bars after an off-duty officer caught him stealing in TK Maxx in Newport.
Daniel Kilshaw, of Cornwall Road in Ventnor, attended the IW Magistrates' Court yesterday (Thursday) and pleaded guilty to theft from a shop.
The 43-year-old entered the TK Maxx store on Newport's South Street on Wednesday (November 20) and helped himself to items worth a total of £249, the court heard.

It is not the first time Kilshaw has been sentenced for stealing from the clothes retailer.
Kilshaw was spotted by an off-duty police officer, who recognised him from a prior theft, with the officer following him before making an arrest,
Magistrates handed Kilshaw a 14-week prison sentence.
