A date has been announced for the opening of major clothing retailer Peacocks’ new store on the Isle of Wight.
Earlier this month, the County Press was told Peacocks, which closed its branch in South Street, Newport, back in 2021, was coming back to the town — albeit at a different premises.
The former shop was based in a unit in the South Street Retail Building, now occupied by Sports Direct, and the new outlet will open on the other side of the road, in the former Iceland building.
Peacocks says the new store, located at 27-29 South Street, Newport, will open at 9am on Thursday, November 28.
To celebrate the big day, Peacocks will be offering opening day discounts, and the first ten customers in store will win a golden ticket, giving them £50 to spend in store.
The outlet will stock a wide range of women’s, men’s and kids’ clothing in a large variety of sizes, and its ‘celebrity collections’ will also be available for customers to peruse.
A spokesperson for the brand said: “We are so excited to be able to welcome shoppers into our new Newport store.
“The store design looks amazing, and we are sure our new and existing customers will love it.
“We will open with all the latest styles, including amazing selections from our Partywear to our festive styles to prepare Newport Isle of Wight for the busy months ahead.”
