More than 100 Isle of Wight homes are still without electricity this morning (Friday), following major power outages yesterday (Thursday).

As previously reported, Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) confirmed there had been two power cuts in the Shanklin and Luccombe area.

Around 91 postcodes and around 1,247 customers were affected by the first, while 13 postcodes were hit by the second.

One outage had been fixed by around 9.30pm last night but the other was still ongoing, leaving some residents without power overnight.

An update this morning shows 106 homes and 11 postcodes are still affected.

SSEN says an engineer is onsite and at this stage, it is hoping to have power restored by 4pm, although this is subject to change.
