A serial Isle of Wight offender was released from custody and warned “there won’t be any more chances," after being banned from all Morrisons stores in the UK.

Lorelei Fisher, of Snowberry Road in Newport, was transported from custody in Surrey to attend the IW Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, November 19.

The 19-year-old previously pleaded guilty to attempting theft from a shop and assault by beating.

Liz Miller, prosecuting, said Fisher attempted to steal a bottle of Jack Daniels, valued at £34, from Morrisons in Newport on October 10 before punching a security guard in the chest.

Ms Miller told magistrates that Fisher should remain in custody due to the likelihood that she would commit further crimes while released on bail.

Oscar Vincent, defending, laid out his client’s recent court schedule, explaining that Fisher was put before a district judge in Portsmouth on November 13.

Mr Vincent said Fisher pleaded guilty to the attempted theft and assault charges and saw her case deferred before being remanded in custody at HMP Bronzefield in Surrey.

On November 15, Fisher attended the IW Crown Court on separate charges, with the case being deferred again and sentencing scheduled for January 31, the court heard.

Mr Vincent asked magistrates to consider adjourning the attempted theft and assault charges until after Fisher’s crown court sentencing so the outcome of the other proceedings is known.

He suggested imposing bail conditions, including an Island-wide Morrisons ban with an electric tag curfew.

Magistrates turned to Fisher and asked her how she felt about the six days she had spent in custody at HMP Bronzefield, but the teenager was unable to respond after breaking down into tears in the dock.

Magistrates granted Fisher conditional bail but told her she was banned from every Morrisons in the UK, not just the Island stores.

Fisher will also be fitted with an electric tag, monitoring a curfew set between 6pm and 6am.

Two more of Fisher's magistrates court charges, scheduled to be heard on December 20, were adjourned and added to the attempted theft and assault – with all to be sentenced on February 7, following the crown court decision on January 31.
