A popular Isle of Wight attraction’s Santa Special event will return in December, with some new surprises expected to make the experience even more special.
The Isle of Wight Steam Railway’s Santa Special rides have been a favourite with Islanders and visiting families for years.
The Santa Specials will run on December 7 and 8, 14 and 15, and between December 20 and Christmas Eve.
On arrival, families can experience an enhanced Winter Wonderland and try their hand at some Christmas crafting – all new for 2024.
Then, they will head to the platform to board the specially dressed train before heading to see Santa in his magical grotto.
The railway has always seen the Santa Special season as one of its highlights and has worked to make the experience more special this year.
During Wizarding Week, the wand-making activities for children proved very popular, so that has been extended into Christmas with some seasonal craft activities.
The specially chosen fairground rides will add to the enchanting feel of the Havenstreet-based attraction.
Marc Morgan Huws, IW Steam Railway chief executive, said: “Every year, we like to try new things to enhance the experience, and 2024 is no exception.
“From the moment they arrive, children can expect an incredible day out.
“Our teams here have been working tirelessly to perfect the Santa Special occasion.”
