An army of mischievous elves is set to bring Christmas cheer to The Isle of Wight Community Club as part of a heartwarming fundraising effort.
More than 70 hand-knitted and crocheted elves, created by The Crafty Ladies and members of the Cowes-based community club, will be up for donation at the Club’s Christmas Fair on Sunday (November 24), from 11am to 3pm.
The elves, lovingly crafted since July, have been spotted causing mischief around the club and are now looking for new homes.
Each elf is unique, with its own personality, ranging from cheeky to charming.
Organisers hope the adoption event will spread Christmas joy while raising funds for new furnishings in the club’s sports bar.
Wendy Mitchell, leader of The Crafty Ladies, praised the community effort behind the project.
“The elves have been an amazing boost to our group, and it's been lovely to watch their numbers grow,” she said.
“Whilst they’ve had a lovely time getting up to all sorts of mischief at the club. No elf should be without a home for Christmas.
“We’re confident everyone who wants to adopt an elf will be able to find one that makes them smile.”

The initiative has already proved popular, with 24 elves finding homes before the official launch.
Alongside adopting an elf, visitors to the fair can enjoy a range of festive activities, including a fun elf hunt around the building and a chance to win a magical elf house restored by The Crafty Ladies.
The event also features 27 local crafters selling gifts and treats, while children can take part in colouring activities.
The Crafty Ladies meet every Monday at 2pm for crafting and chatting, at £2 a session, including materials and refreshments.
Wendy extended her gratitude to the families of the group members, saying, “Thanks must also go to the husbands and families of our wonderful makers who have put up with their homes being taken over!”
