Island Roads has announced a series of upcoming temporary road and footpath closures.

The measures come as part of safety and maintenance works across various locations on the Isle of Wight.

Ventnor Footpath 114i will close until 4pm on December 6. This closure, between its junctions with Esplanade and Marine Parade, is due to cracks and a void in the steps.

Calbourne Road in Newport will also see disruption for five shifts between November 25 and November 29, from its junction with Betty Haunt Lane to Elm Lane, for tree works.

Bagwich Lane, Godshill, will be closed for one shift between November 25 and November 27, for a drainage CCTV survey.

Merstone Lane, Godshill, will also be shut for one shift between the same dates for drainage works.

In Niton, Newport Road will be closed for one shift between November 25 and November 26 for carriageway works.

Pedestrians and cyclists will face restrictions on Parkers Hill, Freshwater, for one shift between November 25 and November 27, for pedestrian barrier repairs.

Esplanade Steps in Ventnor will be closed for footpath repairs for the same duration.

The cycle track from Sandown to Newport will be closed for seven shifts between November 28 and December 6 for a cycleway trimming programme.

Queens Road, Freshwater, will be closed for one shift between November 25 and November 27 for vegetation works.

Pier Street, Ventnor, will be shut for one shift between November 26 and November 28 for the reinstallation of bollards.

Golf Links Road, Lake, will be closed for one shift between November 27 and November 29 for drainage works.

Bonchurch Shute, Ventnor, will also be shut for the same period for drainage works.

Lower Road, Brading, will be closed for one shift between November 27 and November 29 for carriageway repair works.

All alternative routes will be signposted locally.

These temporary closures are in accordance with Section 14 (1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
