No end to the disruption is in sight for an Isle of Wight road which closed more than a year ago following the collapse of a wall.
Bath Road, in Ventnor, was closed back in October 2023 after a section of private wall came tumbling down, blocking the carriageway.
The road leads up from the seafront, past La Falaise car park, and up to Belgrave Road - coming out opposite the Royal Hotel.
In May, the local authority confirmed legal action was being sought as it looked to secure repairs to the retaining wall adjacent to the road.

A notice was issued on behalf of the council, requiring the property owner to carry out works to prevent the danger caused by the retaining wall to users of the highway.
However, the property owner has since exercised their right to appeal the notice to the magistrates’ court in Brighton.
“We are currently awaiting directions to respond to the appeal,” said a spokesperson for the council.
“Following due process, the council must await the outcome of the appeal before considering next steps, including works in default.”
