Gritters will be out on the Isle of Wight for the first time this winter tonight (Tuesday November 19) as temperatures are due to plummet.
Island Roads will be undertaking their first gritting run of the year.
Minus surface temperatures are forecasted for tonight (Tuesday).
Island Roads has six main gritting routes.
Gritters have been deployed several days earlier than last winter.
Island Roads has urged drivers to take extra care driving on icy surfaces.
The company said in a statement on its website: "Before setting off in adverse conditions, please check your vehicle, route and the weather forecast.
"Follow the AA’s winter driving advice and listen to the local radio for travel news while driving."
