A popular Isle of Wight seaside hotel has been crowned ‘Best B&B’ in Britain as part of The Good Hotel Guide 2025 list.
The list, complied by experts who have stayed at the hotels, featured in the Daily Mail, naming The Terrace Rooms and Wine as one of the 19 best hotels in the country.
"If you like a wine fridge and beach towels in your room rather than a robe and slippers, this place is for you,' The Good Hotel Guide's inspector wrote.
Based out of St Augustine Villa in Ventnor, the hotel has gained acclaim since its transformation under owners Ashley and Tom Fahey.
Having opened The Terrace restaurant in Yarmouth with their family in 2020, Ashely and Tom purchased the guesthouse on the edge of Ventnor Cascades and completed an almost year-long renovation project.
Ashley, who had never run a hotel, and Tom, who had never cooked professionally, aimed to create a destination that blended luxury accommodation, exquisite wines and exceptional dining.
Since opening, The Terrace Rooms and Wine has earned accolades, including The Sunday Times' best autumn foodie break in the UK, Conde Nast Traveller's hotel of the month, and The Independent's hot new hotel.
The hotel offers six sea-view bedrooms, each furnished with Hypnos super king beds and White Company linens.
Included is the opportunity for wine tasting and a 'four-course extravaganza' breakfast, as described by the expert inspector.
For wine enthusiasts, the business doubles as a wine shop, open daily to the public from 10am to 5pm, with private wine tastings available.
Every Friday evening, The Terrace transforms into an intimate restaurant for 14 guests.
Tom creates a no-choice set menu showcasing the finest Island produce.
