Actor Shaun Williamson, perhaps best known for playing Barry Evans in Eastenders, is among the acts announced for a new event coming to a popular Isle of Wight attraction.

The former soap star is bringing his hit show Barrioke to Robin Hill for the Sausage and Cider Festival — one of two new events announced for the venue next year.

Barrioke is described as 'unforgettable night of karaoke madness', with Shaun as host.

The festival is the UK's only touring Sausage and Cider Festival, visiting over 30 different locations around the country.

Organisers are promising a 'huge' festival market, on-stage sausage eating contests and six-round chilli eating competitions.

The official Kevin and Perry tribute act will also perform.

There will also be 20 plus sausage flavours, ranging from maple and chilli, vegetarian and cheese, as well as plenty of ciders and other alcoholic drinks.

The event will run between 2pm and 11pm on July 19 next year.

Meanwhile, the following day, Robin Hill will play host to 'the biggest Nashville party to hit the UK'.

Summer in Nashville will see new and undiscovered acts perform, along with tribute acts.

There will be country music, line dancing, an array of American BBQ and street food and entertainment such as rodeo bull rides, country fancy dress, axe throwing, tin can alley and more.

A full music line up is yet to be announced.

Marketing manager Tom Cullen said: “We can’t wait to bring Summer in Nashville to the Isle of Wight for the biggest Nashville party in the UK."
