The discovery of a human bone along a stretch of coastline on the Isle of Wight has led to searches from police and coastguard teams.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary, alongside HM Coastguard, scoured the shoreline at King's Quay, between Wootton and East Cowes yesterday (Friday).
It comes after a member of the public reported finding a human bone at King’s Quay, Whippingham.
Police said they were contacted about the discovery on April 14 this year.
The bone was recovered by police for forensic and DNA analysis.
A spokesperson for the force said: "At this time the origin of the bone, and the identity of the person it belonged to, is unknown."

They said enquiries remain focused on identifying the deceased.
