AN ISLE of Wight drug driver caught with cocaine in his system will learn his fate early next year.
Robert Ford, of Church Road, Wootton Bridge, appeared before Isle of Wight magistrates on Tuesday, November 12.
The 44-year-old admitted two counts of drug driving, on Chain Lane in Newport, on May 4.
Prosecutor, Lauren McConnell, said the attention of police was drawn to a Vauxhall Astra at around 10.45pm.
She said its driver, Ford, was pulled over and registered a reading of 240 for benzoylecgonine, a derivative of cocaine, when the specified limit is 50.
He also registered a reading of 39 for cocaine itself.
The court heard there was no evidence of an unacceptable standard of driving.
Oscar Vincent, defending, said Ford had not consumed any illicit drugs on the day.
He said he took some cocaine in a social setting around three days before.
Ford saw his case adjourned to January 24 and was made subject of an interim driving ban.
He was granted unconditional bail until that date.
