The popular Isle of Wight Christmas Carnival parade is set to illuminate the streets of Newport early in December.
This annual festive extravaganza kicks off at 5pm on Saturday, December 7, with participants forming up at Church Litten from 4.15pm.
The carnival promises a vibrant display of local talent, creativity and community spirit, featuring, Island favourites Medina Marching Band, Vectis Corps of Drums and Ventnor Comic Jazz Band.
Royalty and community floats, walking and dance groups, and emergency services will bring colour and festive cheer.
Schools, including Nine Acres, Hunnyhill and Summerfields, and clubs are creating lanterns for the parade.
A highlight of this year’s carnival is the IW Young Farms Club, returning with their fleet of decorated tractors and costumed drivers, aiming to deliver their most dazzling display yet.
The parade will begin at Church Litten and wind through Newport, passing through South Street, St James’ Street, Pyle Street, High Street and Quay Street.

A spokesperson said: “You can form a group, build a float, create lanterns, or simply come as an individual. It simply does not matter!
“The more the merrier!”
