An Isle of Wight bridge is set to reopen tomorrow (Friday, November 15) after improvement works.
Yarmouth Bridge is due to reopen to road traffic tomorrow after work by Island Roads to install a new deck.
The bridge also features new timber beams and a new waterproofing system, and the footways have been resurfaced.
Yarmouth Bridge is the Island's second-largest bridge, after Medina Way Bridge in Newport.
The bridge will be open during the afternoon.
The highly durable decking system is the same one used to re-deck Tower Bridge in London.
Project manager Nathaniel Saunders said: “We have not always had the best of weather, but we have managed to keep the project on schedule which we know will be welcomed by the local community given the diversion that has been in place for motor vehicles.
“We would like to thank the community for their cooperation and patience during the project which we hope will reduce the need for future maintenance on the deck.
"It’s also been great to have worked closely again with Island company, Stoneham Construction to deliver the project.”
Work started to replace the decking on the bridge in September.
It is the first time the deck has been replaced since 2009.
