A popular Isle of Wight fish and chip shop is among those without power following an outage in Newport this evening (Wednesday, November 13).
Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) was made aware of the unplanned outage at around 7.30pm in the Carisbrooke area.
Six postcodes in the PO30 area have been affected, including the Carisbrooke Fish Bar on Wellington Road.
Approximately 20 SSEN customers have been hit by the power outage, it is understood.
SSEN said engineers are on the way and were scheduled to arrive to begins investigations at the site shortly after 8pm.
The energy company added that it aims to restore power by 11.59pm this evening.
UPDATE: The power cut, which was limited to just one postcode on Hinton Road by 9pm, has now been completely fixed by engineers.
